Join us on Friday September 25\, 2026 at 2515 St. Laurent Blvd\, Ottawa\, for a day filled with insightful discussions\, interactive workshops\, and networking opportunities. \nFrom 10:00 am onwards\, participants will rotate through four engaging 50-minute sessions covering a wide range of topics\, including: \nSession 1: Fall Protection Planning Essentials: Building Effective Site-Specific Work Plans\nJoin an IHSA Consultant for a hands-on session focused on developing and implementing effective site-specific fall protection work plans. Participants will review common work scenarios\, proper fall protection system selection\, anchor point considerations\, rescue planning\, and typical set-up errors that can lead to incidents. The session will also cover how to evaluate work areas\, identify hazards\, and verify that fall protection systems are properly installed before work begins. This practical demonstration is designed to help supervisors and workers confidently plan and execute work at heights safely and in compliance with legislative requirements. \nSession 2: Scaffold Safety Essentials: Inspection\, Hazards\, and Best Practices\nJoin an IHSA Consultant for a practical\, hands-on demonstration of scaffold safety. This session will walk supervisors and workers through key scaffold components\, common mistakes and misconceptions\, and what to look for during a scaffold inspection. \nParticipants will gain a better understanding of how to identify deficiencies\, verify that scaffolds are safe for use\, and recognize hazards before work begins. This interactive session is designed to strengthen inspection skills and reinforce safe work practices on site. \nSession 3: 3M Fall Protection Mobile Demonstration Unit\nExperience the 3M Fall Protection Mobile Demonstration Unit\, a fully equipped Sprinter van showcasing the latest in fall protection equipment and technology. Participants will have the opportunity to see\, handle\, and compare a wide range of harnesses\, self-retracting lifelines\, anchors\, rescue equipment\, and other fall protection solutions. 3M specialists will demonstrate proper equipment selection\, inspection\, fitting\, and use\, while answering questions about real-world applications and common challenges encountered on construction sites. This interactive experience is a great opportunity to explore current innovations and reinforce best practices for working safely at heights. \nSession 4: Due Diligence in Construction: Meeting Your Legal Responsibilities Under Ontario’s OHSA and O. Reg. 213/91– MLITSD\nDue diligence is one of the most important concepts in Ontario workplace health and safety law\, particularly within the construction sector where hazards are dynamic and the stakes are high.
